Advertising policy
Our ads run in bathrooms: a captive audience, sometimes including kids, next to a venue's name. So every ad is reviewed by a person before it runs, and the rules are strict.
What we accept
- Local business
- Food & non-alcoholic drink
- Services & trades
- Events & entertainment
- Retail
- Health & wellness (no medical claims)
- Nonprofit & public service
- Political
What we don't
- Illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia, and anything promoting drug use
Not on our walls. Not in our stalls. - Sexual services, escorts, solicitation, or adult content
It's a bathroom, not a booth. - Weapons, ammunition, and accessories
Nothing that goes bang. Not even in the parking lot. - Alcohol, cannabis, tobacco and vaping, and gambling or sports betting
We have standards, you know. These are below us. (For now.) - Hate, harassment, or content targeting people for who they are
- Scams, get-rich-quick schemes, crypto investment pitches, and predatory lending
- Medical, health or financial claims you can't back up
- Anything deceptive, including ads dressed up as something they're not
How review works
- Every campaign starts as pending and runs only after approval.
- Approval covers the exact link we reviewed. Change the destination and the ad stops until it's reviewed again.
- We can reject or pull any ad, and every ad is labeled Sponsored.
Political ads
We put politicians where they belong.
- Political ads must include a "paid for by" disclaimer, which we show word for word. You're responsible for its wording meeting the rules for your race.
- Political ads are labeled Political ad, and ads made in whole or substantially with AI carry that disclosure.
- They run only at venues that have opted in to political ads.
- Every approved political ad is listed in our public political ad archive: who paid, when it ran, and how many times it was shown.
Advertising with us is governed by our Advertiser Terms; this policy is part of them.
